Mainstream SW

Mainstream South West aims to be a network of local church leaders who share common values and goals, and encourage each other to become all we can be in Christ. As well as encouraging accountable fellowship groups, we organise special Leadership and Theology Days; and have run Retreats at Lee Abbey for those in full-time pastoral leadership. There is also a national Mainstream Conference every January in Swanwick.

Mainstream - what's it all about?

– a word & spirit network of missionary leaders and churches intent on making missionary disciples.

A missionary disciple: one who pursues the life & aims of the kingdom as a priority in every walk of life.

Mainstream started in the 1970's as a renewal movement within the Baptist denomination. Having seen its original vision largely fulfilled, Mainstream is now developing as a movement of leaders and churches committed to seeking God as we stand alongside one another to share in God’s mission in the world. We are a home to churches and church leaders both within and beyond the Baptist Union. We believe there is a wealth of experience and wisdom amongst us that can help us all express mission effectively. But to realise this we must learn to honour and release one another in ministry.

Mainstream – expressed in

Being committed to Word and Spirit
Connecting leaders and churches for mission
Equipping leaders to fulfil their God-given potential
Equipping leadership teams to catch the vision and engage in mission
Equipping Churches by offering teaching and prophetic input
